Ecuador OFF TO ECUADOR
decided to add another continent to my list of travels, and after much research, picked Ecuador. Not only did it have the most to offer in such a small area (if you wanted to, you could watch the sun rise in the Amazon River Basin, have lunch in the shadow of the 6000 meter-high 'active' volcanoes, and watch the sun set on the coast), but it was also relatively safe for a woman traveling alone. Although I was only going for 3-weeks, packing was a challenge since I had to be prepared for both the humid days of the jungle and the cold nights in the Andes. Armed with a sarong, a sleeping bag, and a Spanish dictionary, I was off. |
